An evaluation of regulatory programs relevant to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and their compatibility with SABA’s Atmospheric Benefit Principle.
We are building a digital sustainable aviation fuel certificate (SAFc) registry with EnergyWeb to bring more transparency and consistency to the emerging SAF certificate market. This quick guide introduces SAFc and the registry.
The rulebook specifies how SAFc can be issued, transferred, and retired in an independently governed registry. It was developed by RMI and the Environmental Defense Fund, in consultation with the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) members, a consultative group of fuel providers, and other stakeholders.
